For a recent project for my Multimedia Portfolio class, I had to create a presentation on mobile apps for media professionals. To show some of the features of the apps, I screen-recorded while using the apps myself, and I ended up keeping a few downloaded afterwards!
The first was Pinterest, which I already had, like many do. On Pinterest you are able to search for ideas and inspiration, and save posts, or “pin” them, to your own boards that you’ve created and personalized. You can share them, and post your own.
The next was Shutterstock, which is an app with a seemingly endless list of stock imagery and footage. They cost a small amount to download, and then are accessable on any device. It’s a quick and easy way to get royalty-free images and footage.
Lastly, there was Pocket Palette, a great tool for discovering and creating different color schemes and palettes. The app allows you to save palettes you find or create, as well as pick colors from photos off of your device to create a scheme.
These apps are all very useful and easy to use for designers, artists, or developers of any kind. Although some in-app purchasing, I would recommend any of these to a designer.
