The other week in Multimedia Portfolio Class, we had a guest speaker come to the classroom and present on SEO and Web Analytics. SEO stands for “Search Engine Optimization”, and it helps improve and inncrease traffic to a website from search engines. You can improve your SEO for your site by making sure that you know your online audience, have links to external pages or sites, keep your content fresh, and utilize keywords throughout the site. So when you want to start seeing all of that traffic, and want to know the ins and outs and little details, is when you turn to your website analytics. These results tell you many things, such as your bounce rate, pageviews, unique page views, conversions, amount of clicks, and so much more! This can tell you what’s working and what’s not, and what content you should keep and maybe what you should add to keep people interested and clicking. It was a very engaging presentation and he explained everything very thouroughly. It was great!
