For today’s blog, I wanted to look back on a past project of mine from my first year of school to critique and determine what can be changed and/or made better. The project I chose is my infographic from Design Fundamentals class first semester. For this project, we were instructed to build/design a 5.5″x16″ infographic about a topic determined by us and approved by our instructor. The content was required to be primarely typography, and a silhouette based off of a project we’d done just previous to this, and the goal was to learn how to work with type in a composition and around other elements. I chose to make my poster about Harry Styles! I’ll attach the file below:
My first change that I would make would be my font choices. I don’t mind the smaller sans serif font, but the bolder font I would change to something else, probably something closer to the font used on HS’s website and merchandise. I also would put any songs that were released as singles preceding the album they are a part of in bold type, and at the top of the list of songs. For example, in his first album, “Sign of the Times” was released before the rest of the album to give a sneak peak, as many music artists do. Lastly, I would attempt to move some elements around to try and fit in Harry’s most recent album, “Harry’s House”, as well as the many recent awards he has recieved.
